Continuous Production
Thinking of production scheme from the aspect of production continuity, the scheme to install machine and equipment dedicated to a certain product and produce it continuously and repetitively for a certain period of time is called Continuous Production. When thinking of this production scheme in terms of order time, it is Make to Stock, while in terms of the type of product and its production amount, it is Low-Mix High-Volume Production. In other words, after the production specifications are determined in advance and a high volume of the same type of product is produced, the orders are received. This system has good points of constant high productivity and smooth work flow leading to quick delivery to customers, while it faces less flexibility for the fluctuation in quantity's or product type's demand.
