Production Bill of Materials
A bill of materials is usually created through the processes where the engineering division first performs the function planning, and then the production division performs the production planning. The bill of materials created by the production division based on the Engineering Bill of Materials created by the engineering division is called "Production Bill of Materials". In the Production Bill of Materials, the basic data includes the thorough way of processing items, its procedure, economical conditions which are all necessary to produce items. Thus items which is not included in the Engineering Bill of Materials are added, or items unnecessary for production are removed in this bill of materials. In the conventional mass quantity of few-type production, it was common to ceate the bill of materials in such a way, but the current companies which are facing demands for high-mix low-volume production and quick-delivery production need to perform both function and production engineerings to create the production bill of materials in the engineering division.
