Check Digit
It is an inspection figure, by which whether the pre-defined code (based on which some work is performed) is correct or not is determined. Check Digit is fixed by processing the figure of each digit of code, and then the Check Digit is added to the code, which is used as one code. For example, in order to obtain the Check Digit of 3152" with modulus value 11, the formula is as follows:
In this way, Check Digit 6 is added to the code of "3152", and "31526" will be used as the code. It is necessary in MRP system to use the Check Digit-added items which computerized processing is based on, e.g. item number and to check the code on entry, in order to avoid wrong processing.
