Extraction
It is a function of Requirements Explosion, to extract the requirements of child item, which is explored and calculated by Single Level Requirements Explosion, one by one in the ascending order of level. The planning of a series of logistics such as Calculating Net Requirements and Lot Sizing is performed to the extracted requirements in MRP.
The following is an example where the requirements of child item of Item A. In this case, Level Table g is referred by the first request of extraction, base on which the requirements (20) registered in Item g are first extracted. At this point, the extraction of g is over and thus f which is registered in Activity Chain of Item g is registered in Level Table. The Schedule Order of g is created base on the requirements of extracted Item g through Calculating Gross Requirements and Calculating Net Requirements. When the planning of Item g is over, next the extraction of Item f starts. Like in the case of Item g, the requirements are extracted, referring to Level Table. In this way, whenever an extraction is requested in the subsequent procedures, a series of MRP's planning is done by extracting the requirements of items in the ascending order of level of Level Table (See the figure in the next page).
