Level Table
Level Table
It is an administrative table by which MRP is performed level by level, that is, in ascending order of level. The lengthwise direction of level table ensures only the maximum value of lower-level items, which is called the depth of product structure. For the crosswise direction, the same number of entries as the same level of items are necessary, which is called the expanse of product structure in contrast to its depth. Regarding the expanse, it is difficult to set how many numbers are necessary in advance. Therefore another method of Activity Chain is usually used to control the crosswise direction. When the Activity Chain is not considered, as shown in the figure, each item is set in the level table and MRP is performed in ascending order of level, i.e. starting at P or X of Level1.
