Leveling
It is to adjust the load accumulated in each period of each process for the purpose of its equalization, and it is performed in the CRP (Capacity Requirements Planning) of the manufacturing planning after the process explosion and loading are over.
The leveling is performed during the period between the earliest start date and the last start date. As shown in the figure, it is also performed by determining the load status, whether the leveling is feasible or not, according to load rate by period and accumulated load rate by period. When leveling is impossible, subcontract or alternative process is considered to enhance the capacity, or rescheduling of order delivery date is taken into consideration.
