Manufacturing Process Control
- Work descriptions:
- Manufacturing planning is usually handled by a master workman or each person in charge belonging to the planning or management section in each shop in the manufacturing division. Based on the production plan (large schedule plan), he/she explores the necessary constituent parts (middle schedule plan), which are sorted into internal ones or external. Then he/she prepares a schedule list (small schedule plan), allocates the worker(s) by dispatching, and provides directions for the actual work.
- Problems:
-
Possible problems in the manufacturing process control system are as follows:
1. Due to improper standard time manufacturing plan is difficult to be practical.
2. The relationship between capacity and load is unclear, and thus it is difficult to sort parts into internal ones or external.
3. Since the person in charge of planning cannot grasp the progress status, some deliveries are delayed.
4. The performance data of work cannot be correctly grasped and thus be reflected on the plan. - Functions:
-
The manufacturing process control system has the functions of manufacturing plan and process control.
Manufacturing plan
For the manufactured item whose MRP is performed, the system performs process explosion, places load on each process, makes an arrangement considering its capacity, performs the sequence planning of equalized works, and then sends operating instructions to each shop.
Process control
The system receives the information on the progress status of issued orders, and prepares a report on the work progress status, operation result by process, and so on.
